GET TO KNOW AMANDA ROSE RAMBO

Q. When did you start drawing?

A. Well I started drawing when I was little, just a pencil and paper were some of my favorite toys. I taught myself a lot and didn't take any kind of actual art or drawing course until I was in college. Where I studied Art and majored in Fine Art with a 2D focus.

Q.  Where does your inspiration come from?

A. From everywhere honestly. It could be hanging out at starbucks with my best friend and all of a sudden I'm getting ideas and trying to write things down so I don't forget them. Other times its nature, or something funny that one of my cats do.

Q. Did you always know you wanted to be an artist? Or did you have other ideas to be something else?

A. There were times in my life when I wanted to do other things, but they were always short lived. Artist has been the main theme in my life for as long as I can remember.

Q. How much work and time goes into doing a book?

A.  A TON! lol Seriously though if I truly focus and work at it I can have all the drawings done for a book in about a month. Then there is about a week where I live on my laptop as I scan all my pages, digitally trace them, get them all into a good format and then create my cover before uploading everything to a self publishing site like createspace. So its a lot of work, but seeing it pop up in a random group that someone just loved coloring a page I have done is one of the most amazing feelings in the world.

Q.  DO YOU EVER COLOR ANY OF YOUR IMAGES?

A. I do color my images, not all of them, but sometimes, usually because its more of an eye grabbing picture once colored or partly colored, than a blank page is.

Q. Any plans for more books in the future??

A. YES! and always I seem to be forever coming up with new ideas, faster than I am ever getting them done.

Q.  What has been your personal experience in the adult coloring world as a artist?

A. I honestly started with very low expectations of anyone even liking what I did, as an artist you are always your own worst critic. So I have been happily surprised at just how much people like if not love my work. Its incredibly fulfilling work.

Q.  Anything else you would like to add we haven't covered???

A. Feedback! If you have an artist you love, tell them!! have an idea you would love to see? message an artist and ask or post it up. I personally love new ideas and always want to know what new things colorist want and what they prefer.
